Print FAQs

What is your phone number and hours of operation?

Shelton Turnbull is open Monday through Friday 8am-5pm. During that time you can contact us by phone at 541-687-1214. Outside of business hours please contact us.

Privacy, how are my files and data stored?

Shelton Turnbull understands the sensitivity of product launches, contact lists and personal information. You can rest assured that all information is stored within our facility for future reference of your project for your convenience, access to this information is not allowed outside of the company, and your information will never be sold.

What is a long vs short run?

Long run projects are typically the most cost effective for a customer and typically include quantities of 2,500 or more.  We have found that most companies gravitate to the pricing of a long run, but lack the storage space to keep that amount of printed materials. Shelton Turnbull offers fulfillment and procurement options to meet your needs and keep costs down.  Ask us how we can help.

Do you do … ?

Yes, if it can be printed on, we can help!

What makes your green solutions green?

We focus on sustainable print practices and materials. Sustainability practices are continually improving – we’re one of the best sustainable print shops in the US. We’re at the fore-front of this evolution and intend to stay that way – that’s what sustainability is!

What type of file should we send?

A print-ready PDF with bleeds (if required) is preferred. We can also work with InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop files. Please call with any questions about file setup.

What resolution should my photos be for good reproduction?

For offset and digital printing, photos should be a minimum of 300 dpi at actual size. For wide-format posters and banners, a minimum of 75 dpi at actual size.

What is the turnaround time for my order, when will I receive it?

Production time varies based on time of year, project size, design time or when artwork is received from the customer. The short answer is, tell us when you need your project complete and we’ll do our best to meet and exceed those timelines. If you don’t have a requested delivery date or are flexible, you can ask your sales consultant for a timeline when the order is placed.

What is a bleed?

Bleed is a printing term that refers to printing that goes beyond the edge of the printed area, or paper, before trimming. Simply put, a bleed is an area of the print which will be trimmed off.

You may be asked to provide a file that contains a bleed to avoid unusual borders or white space once your projects are printed. A bleed allows for a seamless finished look.

What is the minimum quantity you print?

Shelton Turnbull is a large scale printer. For that reason it’s not necessarily cost effective for you or us to print one off papers, booklets, etc. that could easily be done within your office. However, large scale posters, banners, etc. are one off projects that are small and best done here. So if your question is how small or large is my project compared to what we offer, give us a call and we’ll tell you the most cost effective method for your needs.
